Public Transport

The Territory's public transport services are managed by the Department of Transport and serviced by a range of contracted bus operators including Buslink and Darwin Bus Service (DBS).

Public Transport services have been designed to meet the needs of the general public, students, students with special needs, seniors and the mobility impaired.

Each year the Territory Government provides free buses to transport members of the public to and from special events such as the V8 Supercars, Darwin Show, bassinthegrass and the Darwin Cup. Please check this website closer to the date of each event, for timetables, maps and other travel information.

Darwin bus services routes 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, 9, 10,12,14, 70, 71, 72, 73 and 74 operate seven days a week including public holidays (excluding Christmas Day and Good Friday). Alice Springs bus services routes 100/101, 200/201, 300/301, 400/401 and 500 operate from Monday to Saturday (excluding public holidays). NT Statutory Public Holidays

Getting to the V8 Supercars - 14 to 16 June 2013

The Northern Territory Government will be providing free buses for the public to attend the 2013 V8 Supercar Championships to be held at the Hidden Valley Raceway from Friday 14 to Sunday 16 June 2013, please check the V8 Bus Timetables for service information. 

 

Casuarina Interchange Works 7 May 2013

The Casuarina Interchange will have a fresh new look! 
Painting starts on Tuesday 7 May 2013 and should take a few weeks to be completed. Works will will be done outside bus service hours.

 

AFL Game 1 June 2013

AFL

The Territory Government will be providing free buses for the public to attend the Western Bulldogs v Port Adelaide game to be held at the TIO Stadium (Marrara Sports Ground) on Saturday 1 June 2013. Buses will pick up and drop off at bus stops along the route.

Free bus services will be available to and from Darwin, Nightcliff, Casuarina and Palmerston please see the timetable and links for more information.

Mindil Beach Market Buses 25 April 2013

Mindil Beach Buses

Darwinbus welcomes the opening of the dry season Mindil Beach Markets on Thursday 25 April 2013.

Due to a reduction of car parking space at the markets a temporary car park will open on Lambell Terrace, Larrakeyah at the old Darwin hospital site.

Bus services Route 4 and 15 will allow the public to get to and from the markets from the bus stop at the Lambell Terrace car park.

Route 15 operates on Thursdays only and Route 4 operates on both the Thursday and Sunday Market days. Please check the timetables for service times. Normal Fares apply.

 

Free Wi-Fi - Get On Get Connected!

Look for this Wi-Fi LogoPassengers are now able to access up to 90 minutes or 100MB of free Wi-Fi daily at Darwin, Casuarina and Palmerston bus Interchanges and on the Wi-Fi enabled buses. (Look for the FREE Wi-Fi Logo) Passengers will be able to surf the web, read their emails, do homework and more. To access the Wi-Fi you will need an internet enabled device such as a smart phone or laptop.

To use the Wi-Fi follow these steps:

  1. Once you are at a Wi-Fi Interchange or on a Wi-Fi bus
  2. Enabled Wi-Fi on your device (in settings)
  3. Connect to the Darwinbus free Wi-Fi
  4. Open your web browser
  5. Follow the instructions on screen
