School bus changes – Monday 23 March 2015 - Route 105

Parents, students and teachers are advised that a change to route 105 (AM and PM) will commence on Monday 23 March 2015.

Route 105 will now depart from Stoddart Drive at 7.50am, arrive at Darwin Interchange at 8am and then continue to Kormilda College. In the afternoon the bus will terminate at Stoddart Dr at 3.35pm.

This change has been implemented in order to assist those students residing in Bayview to attend Kormilda College. Please visit the school bus services page for the updated route timetable and map.

Timetable changes for Route 447 starting Monday 23 March 2015

School bus changes – Monday 16 March 2015 – Route 52

Parents, students and teachers are advised that a change to route 52(PM) will commence on Monday 16 March 2015.

Route 52(PM) will now depart from Nightcliff Primary School at 14:40pm in lieu of the current time of 14:35pm and arrive at Casuarina Interchange at approximately 14:57pm.

This change is being introduced to allow Nightcliff Primary School students to have enough time to get onto the bus.

Defence Welcome Home Parade - Saturday 21 March 2015

screen shot of google maps showing the location of the Darwin bus interchangePassengers are advised that due to the Defence Welcome Home Parade on Saturday 21 March 2015 public bus services in and out of Darwin City will change.

Bus stops on Mitchell and Cavenagh Streets will not be serviced between 9am and 11am. The only bus stop will be the Darwin Bus Interchange.

The Defence Welcome Home Parade marks the end of Operation SLIPPER and will commence at 9am at the Darwin Post Office.

Please refer to the map for the temporary route of travel for bus services in Darwin City for the duration of the parade.

School bus changes – Monday 23 March 2015 – Route 202

School-buses-2Parents, students and teachers are advised that a change to route 202(PM) will commence on Monday 23 March 2015.

Due to time restraints on the school network and the need to allow enough time for the driver to get to the next run from Dripstone Middle School on time, the section of the route 202(PM) through Wanguri has been removed. No students should be impacted from this change.

School bus changes starting Monday 9 March 2015 – Routes 59, 61 and 204

School-buses-2Parents, students and teachers are advised that changes to the following school bus services will commence on Monday 9 March.

Route 59(AM) will now depart 10 minutes later from the Casuarina Bus Interchange at 8.00am to fix a timing issue on another affected school route.

Route 61(AM) will depart 10 minutes earlier from the Casuarina Bus Interchange at 7.50am to reduce late arrivals at O’Loughlin Catholic College and Marrara Christian School.

Route 2049AM) will depart 10 minutes earlier from the corner of Stoddart and Fanning Drives at 6.50am to reduce late arrivals at Darwin High and Middle Schools.

Timetable changes to Route 1 and 1h starting Monday 2 March 2015

image, route 1, route 1h, route changesPassengers are advised that as of Monday 2 March 2015 the Route 1(a) bus service departing Casuarina Bus Interchange at 9:30pm Monday to Friday will be replaced with a Route 1h service departing the same time.

This change has been implemented in order to assist those passengers working at the hospital meet the last Route 9 and 10 services departing the Casuarina Bus Interchange and provide hospital staff living in Tiwi with access to public transport.

Timetable changes to Route 74 starting Monday 2 March 2015

Route 74 changesPassengers are advised that as of Monday 2 March 2015 the Route 74(a) departing Palmerston Bus Interchange at 12:10pm Monday to Friday will now change to depart at 3:30pm to accommodate workers from Kokoda Industries in Yarrawonga.

In addition the Route 74(a) 5:15pm service from Palmerston Bus Interchange will now depart at 5:30pm in order to allow time for passengers from the orbital services arriving at 5:15pm to connect with the Route 74.

New school bus route for Alice Springs – Monday 23 February 2015

school buses in a rowA new school bus is being introduced to the Alice Springs School Bus Network on Monday 23 February 2015. The new school bus will be providing an additional morning and afternoon school service to cater for increased school transport demand this year.

A number of changes to other school bus runs have been made to spread the extra demand between school buses. Your usual route of travel may have changed. Please check the new timetable here.

school buses in a rowParents, students and teachers are advised that a change to the route of travel for School Route 207 AM and PM will commence as of Monday 23 February 2015.

The route of travel change has been made in an effort to reduce the time required to complete the service and to provide safer access to the service for Milkwood Steiner students.

School Bus Route 433 – Wet Season – Term 1, 2015 

school buses in a rowParents, students and teachers are reminded that school route 433 runs a wet season route of travel throughout all of term 1.

The service will return to the dry season route for term 2. Please see the route map and description for further information.

All other school bus routes remain unchanged for the beginning of term 1, 2015.

Christmas holiday period ticket office opening hours and bus services on Christmas Day

CasuarinaInterchangePassengers are advised that due to the Christmas and New Year holiday period the opening hours of the Casuarina, Palmerston and Darwin bus interchange ticket offices will vary.

23, 24, 29, 30 and 31 December 2014 and 2 and 5 January 2015
Casuarina Bus Interchange open 6.45am to 4.30pm
Darwin Bus Interchange (public toilets only) open 8am to 4.30pm
Palmerston Interchange open 6.45am to 4.30pm

25, 26, 27 and 28 December 2014 and 1, 3 and 4 January 2015
All ticket offices will be closed

All tickets can be purchased on board the bus using cash only.

Passengers are also reminded that there are no bus services on Christmas Day.

fireworks2The Northern Territory Government is providing free buses for the public to safely attend New Year’s Eve celebrations. Buses will operate from 7pm on 31 December 2014 to 6.30 am 1 January 2015. Services will depart Darwin, Casuarina and Palmerston Interchanges, picking up and dropping off at all bus stops along the route. For the route map and timetables click here

More bus fare options from Monday 15 December 2014

Bus ticketing is changing to make public transport use in Darwin and Alice Springs easier and more convenient for passengers. From Monday 15 December 2014, the new ticketing system will be live on Darwinbus and ASbus services and new Tap and Ride cards and fares will be on sale.

Fares will not increase and students (and other eligible groups) will continue to travel at no cost. More fare options for concession card holders and regular passengers will be provided.

Changes to inbound Route 8, 3pm service start Monday 1 December 2014

route-8Passengers are advised that as of Monday 1 December 2014, the inbound route 8 service departing Palmerston Bus Interchange at 3pm will no longer service Kormilda College.

Passengers currently boarding the 3pm service from Kormilda College will need to walk to the bus stop outside Hidden Valley Ford on Stuart Hwy.

As a result of this change the bus will arrive earlier at the bus stops between Kormilda College and Darwin Bus Interchange. For the updated timetable click here.

School Bus Route 104 (AM and PM) changes – Monday 17 November 2014

School-buses-2Parents, students and teachers are advised that as of Monday 17 November 2014, the route of travel for School Route 104 AM and PM will change to include Parap Primary School.

The route of travel change has been made to provide an additional service to Parap Primary School. Any students in Parap or Fannie Bay currently using route 104 on East Point Rd to get to and from school will need to use other available services such as school routes 50, 53, 100, 202 or urban route 4. Changes to school bus services 202, 215, 247, 407 and 425  - Monday 27 October 2014

School-buses-2Parents, students and teachers are advised that changes to the following school bus services commenced on Monday 27 October.

Route 202(PM) will now travel around the Lee Point roundabout before turning left on Wanguri Tce. Route 215 (AM and PM) will no longer use the Arnhem Hwy to access the Humpty Doo Schools. Route 247 (AM) will terminate opposite Sacred Heart Primary School at approximately 8.35am. Route 407 (PM) will change the way it uses Wells Creek Rd and Route 425 (AM and PM) will no longer service the Noonamah Store.

Casuarina Bus Interchange building works – Ticket office temporary closure

CasuarinaInterchangeCommencing Monday 27 October Casuarina interchange will undergo building works to the main building. The works will affect internal areas of the building and ticket office. As a result the ticket office will be closed from noon Friday 24/10/14 to ensure the safety of staff and customers. The ticket office is expected to reopen mid-December.

All bus services will continue to run as scheduled and will not be affected by these building works. The public toilets will remain open, however please adhere to all signage and safety barriers erected near the main building.

All tickets can be purchased on the bus using cash. The Palmerston and Darwin interchanges will be open Monday to Friday for passengers wishing to purchase tickets using EFTPOS.

School Bus Route 103 (PM) Changes – Monday 18 August 2014

School-buses-2Parents, students and teachers are advised that School Route 103 (PM) will return to the original route of travel as of Monday 18 August 2014.

This service has been running an alternate route of travel to provide access to Tipperary Waters in the afternoon whilst works were being undertaken on Tiger Brennan Drive.

School Bus Network Changes – Monday 11 August 2014

School-buses-2Parents, students and teachers are advised that all MacKillop Catholic College Palmerston services are changing as of Monday 11 August 2014.

The three existing services (245, 246 and 247) have been redesigned to cater for enrolment growth. There are now four Palmerston services for MacKillop Catholic College (routes 245, 246, 247 and 248). Please see the new route maps and descriptions to determine which route best suits your travel needs.

St Johns service 56(PM) is being removed on Monday 11 August. Any students currently using this service can still use route 214(PM).

 

VRD Drive reopening Thursday 31 July 2014

map showing temporary changes on lee point roadThe VRD Dr and Lee Point Rd intersection has reopened and as a result the normal route of travel for Routes 2, 22, 9b and 9c will resume from first service on Thursday 31 July 2014. Bus services will continue to be diverted today (Wednesday 30 July) so not to cause any inconvenience for those unaware of the reopening.

 

 

Alice Springs bus temporary detours - Thursday 16 October

Public Transport has been advised that due to the running of the Masters Mile and Cycling Street Sprint this afternoon (Thursday 16 October) Gap Rd and Stott Tce will be closed from 4pm to 10pm.

This closure will impact the following bus services:

  • Route 200 – 4pm, 4.45pm and 5.30pm inbound services (buses will be diverted along Leichhardt and Wills Tce)
  • Route 300 – 4pm, 4.45pm and 5.30pm outbound and inbound services (buses will be diverted along Telegraph Tce)
  • Route 500 – 5.10pm outbound service (bus will be diverted down Leichhardt and South Tce)
