Public Transport

The Territory's public transport services are managed by the Department of Lands and Planning, Public Transport Division and serviced by a range of contracted bus operators including Buslink and Darwin Bus Service (DBS).

Public Transport services have been designed to meet the needs of the general public, students, students with special needs, seniors and the mobility impaired.

Each year the Territory Government provides free buses to transport members of the public to and from special events such as the V8 Supercars, Darwin Show, bassinthegrass and the Darwin Cup, to name a few. Please check this website closer to the date of each event, for timetables, maps and other travel information.

Darwin bus services routes 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, 9, 10,12,14, 70, 71, 72, 73 and 74 operate seven days a week including public holidays (excluding Christmas Day and Good Friday). Alice Springs bus services routes 100/101, 200/201, 300/301, 400/401 and 500 operate from Monday to Saturday (excluding public holidays). NT Statutory Public Holidays

Mindil Beach bus services start 26 April 2012

Mindil Bus Services The Territory Government wishes to advise passengers that the Mindil Beach Thursday Market bus services will commence on Thursday 26 April 2012. Public bus services operate from Darwin, Casuarina and Palmerston to the Thursday Mindil Beach Markets and return.

AFL Free Bus Services 19 May 2012  

AFL logoThe Territory Government will be providing free buses for the public to attend the AFL premiership game, Western Bulldogs v Gold Coast Suns to be held at the TIO Stadium (Marrara Sports Ground) on Sunday 19 May 2012.
