Public Transport

The Territory's public transport services are managed by the Department of Transport and serviced by a range of contracted bus operators including Buslink and Territory Transit.

Public Transport services have been designed to meet the needs of the general public, students, students with special needs, seniors and the mobility impaired.

Darwin bus services routes 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, 9, 10,12,14, 70, 71, 72, 73 and 74 operate seven days a week including public holidays (excluding Christmas Day and Good Friday). Alice Springs bus services routes 100/101, 200/201, 300/301, 400/401 and 500 operate from Monday to Saturday (excluding public holidays). NT Statutory Public Holidays

Use your Basics Card to buy your bus fares

As of Monday 15 February, Basics Card holders will be able to use their Basics Card to buy their bus fares. Basics Cards can only be used at bus interchanges to purchase bus fares. Normal concession ID requirements apply.

Changes to school bus route 100 - Commencing Monday 15 February 2016

Teachers, students, parents and carers are advised that a timing change to school bus route 100 will commence on Monday 15 February 2016.

This change is being introduced to reduce late arrivals at Darwin High and Middle Schools in the morning.

Route 100 will now depart from Moray Street 10 minutes earlier at 6:55am. Students should expect the bus to arrive approximately 10 minutes earlier at their usual bus stop.
