The Territory's public transport services are managed by the Department of Transport and serviced by a range of contracted bus operators including Buslink and Darwin Bus Service (DBS).
Public Transport services have been designed to meet the needs of the general public, students, students with special needs, seniors and the mobility impaired.
Each year the Territory Government provides buses to transport members of the public to and from special events such as the V8 Supercars, Darwin Show, bassinthegrass and the Darwin Cup. Please check this website closer to the date of each event, for timetables, maps and other travel information.
Darwin bus services routes 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, 9, 10,12,14, 70, 71, 72, 73 and 74 operate seven days a week including public holidays (excluding Christmas Day and Good Friday). Alice Springs bus services routes 100/101, 200/201, 300/301, 400/401 and 500 operate from Monday to Saturday (excluding public holidays). NT Statutory Public Holidays

Route 7 and 14 - Gonzales Rd opening
Passengers are advised that as of Sunday 8 December the intersection at Tiger Brennan Drive and Gonzales Road will be open to buses.
The intersection will be left in, left out only. The route 7 and 14 services will return to the normal route of travel through Tipperary Waters, picking up at the stop near the shops. Detours remain in place for Meigs Crescent.
Please note that the school bus service (Route 103) will remain under the current arrangement until the start of the 2014 school term.
New Cullen Bay Pontoon open to public
As of Saturday 30 November 2013, the new Cullen Bay Pontoon will open to the public. Ferry services will operate as normal from the Cullen Bay Pontoon, excluding the 1pm Cullen Bay to Mandorah and the 1.20pm Mandorah to Cullen Bay services. The Darwinbus services will run as per normal timetable, picking up at the regular bus stop near the pontoon. For more information phone 8924 7666 to speak to a Customer Service Officer.
Temporary changes to Routes 22 and 24, and School Service 206
Passengers are advised that due to the duplication of Lee Point Road, urban bus routes 22, 24 and school bus service 206 will be temporarily re-routed through Castlereagh Drive. Two temporary bus stops will be situated on Castlereagh Drive until works are complete on Lee Point Road. The scheduled timetables will not be affected. For more information please click here
Cullen Bay Pontoon Temporary Closure
As of Monday 4 November 2013, the Cullen Bay Pontoon will be closed to allow for its replacement with a new 63 metre aluminium pontoon and gangway. Work will be undertaken over a 4-6 week period, with completion scheduled for early December 2013 (weather permitting).
During this period, there will be no access to the Cullen Bay Pontoon, however alternative berthing arrangements have been put in place. Due to these works the existing bus stop at the Cullen Bay ferry terminal will be closed and a temporary bus stop will be in place at 57 The Boulevard Cullen Bay. The Darwinbus route 14 timetable remains unchanged.

Bus Stop Artwork
As part of a community arts project Mr David Collins, local Artist, has started painting the concrete bus shelters along McMillan's Road. Ten shelters will have mural's based on traditional textile designs with native birds as the central motif and textures and colours drawn on from the Darwin environment celebrating its rich diversity. Stops that have already been painted are numbers 227, 273, 276 and 279.

Tipperary Waters Student Travel Changes Monday 19 August 2013
Students parents and carers are advised that due to the Tiger Brennan Drive road works the standard large school bus will not be able to pick up and drop off at the Frances Bay Drive bus stop near Gonzales Road, Tipperary Waters from Monday 19 August 2013. A temporary smaller bus service has been arranged to assist Tipperary Waters students to and from School. For more information please click here
Tipperary Waters Bus Stop Temporary Relocation 19 August 2013
Passengers are advised that due to the Tiger Brennan Drive road works the route 7 and route 14b bus services will not be able to pick up and drop off at the Frances Bay Drive bus stop near Gonzales Road, Tipperary Waters from Monday 19 August 2013.
A temporary bus stop has been created at Lot 6404 next to the 'Duck Pond' where all services will continue as per the normal timetable. For more information please click here.
