Environmental Management
The Department of Planning and Infrastructure (DPI) submitted two Notices of Intent in January and February 2008, to the Department of Natural Resources, Environment, the Arts and Sport (NRETAS) for assessment. NRETAS assessed the Notices of Intent under the Environmental Assessment Act. No formal assessment was required under the act. However, an Environmental Management Plan was required to manage the environmental aspects of the project appropriately.
Due to the Early Contractor Involvement project delivery method, the Project Environmental Management Plan (PEMP) was developed jointly with the main contractor, Macmahon Contractors and DPI.
The PEMP aims to identify all environmental issues on the project and document a management plan or mitigation approach for each. A copy of the full PEMP is given on this website.
Note that the PEMP is a project specific document and should not be used or copied in anyway for other projects. This PEMP is also a controlled document under the Macmahon management system. As such, when updates or changes are made, the website version will be updated as well.
